From Comics to Locations

For the past five years, I’ve worked quietly behind the scenes, scouting distinctive locations across Spain for high-end series, films and commercial productions. It’s a role that demands both rigour and intuition: understanding a script not just as a set of scenes, but as atmosphere, rhythm and intention.

Long before stepping onto a set, my education began elsewhere: in animated films and underground comics discovered in childhood and adolescence. They sharpened my eye for framing, texture and narrative tension. They taught me that a setting is never neutral; it carries emotion, subtext and memory.

Today, that early visual literacy allows me to read between the lines of a director’s brief and anticipate the spatial needs of creative production designers. The work is less about finding a place and more about recognising the one that already belongs to the story and making it work with clarity and precision.
